Terms of Use
1. Scope and provider
These terms govern the use of PCBuildAI (pcbuildai.com), operated by Kilian Harbauer, Arcostraße 10, 10587 Berlin ("we"). Provider and contact details are in the legal notice. Deviating user terms do not apply.
2. What PCBuildAI is
PCBuildAI is a free information service: you describe the PC you need in a chat; an AI translates your requirements, and a rule-based system assembles configuration suggestions from currently listed components — with links to retailers where you can buy the parts.
We sell nothing. Purchase contracts are concluded exclusively between you and the respective retailer; their prices, terms, withdrawal, and warranty rules apply. The service is under construction ("beta") and may change at any time.
3. AI content, prices, no advice
- Chat replies and suggestions are AI-generated and non-binding; they can contain errors. The components themselves always come from our catalog of real offers — but assessments, explanations, and fit for your needs are machine-generated.
- Part compatibility is checked by rules (e.g. socket, RAM type, PSU headroom) but does not replace your own check. Verify compatibility, prices, and availability with the retailer before buying.
- Prices and availability are taken from our affiliate partner's data and refreshed regularly (typically daily). They include statutory VAT; shipping costs, where known, are shown separately per offer. The price in the retailer's shop always prevails.
- PCBuildAI does not replace professional advice; purchase decisions are your own responsibility.
4. Financing through affiliate links
Offer links are advertising links of our affiliate partner and are labeled as such; your price does not change. Commissions have no influence on the selection or ordering of suggestions — see the affiliate disclosure.
5. Account and acceptable use
- Guest mode works without an account. An account (Google sign-in) is needed to save and share builds; you must be at least 16 years old.
- The service is intended for personal, non-automated use. We enforce fair usage limits (rate limits).
- Prohibited in particular: automated queries, scraping, or systematic extraction of the catalog; circumventing usage limits or safety filters; attacks on the service or the AI system; use for unlawful purposes; publishing unlawful content via build names or shared builds.
- On violations we may restrict use, remove shared content, and suspend or delete accounts; statutory rights remain unaffected.
- You can delete your account at any time in settings.
6. Shared builds
Creating a share link makes the build (part list, prices, build name) publicly accessible. You are responsible for the build name. You can end publication at any time by deleting the build.
7. Rights to content
The service, its design, software, and content are legally protected. We use catalog and price data under license from our partner; systematic reproduction or extraction is not permitted. Using and sharing your build suggestions for private purposes is allowed.
8. Availability
We aim for reliable operation but owe no particular availability. We may change, restrict, or discontinue the service at any time; there is no entitlement to a free-of-charge offering.
9. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. In cases of slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes proper use of the service possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely), limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of service. Any further liability is excluded. We accept no liability for the accuracy of retailer information (in particular prices and availability) or for the content of linked websites; claims arising from a purchase lie exclusively against the retailer.
10. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms with effect for the future, for instance for feature changes or legal reasons. The current version is published here; signed-in users will be informed of material changes in an appropriate way. Continued use after that means the new version applies.
11. Final provisions
German law applies. If you are a consumer, mandatory protective provisions of the state of your habitual residence remain unaffected. We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG). Should individual provisions be invalid, the remainder stays effective.
